  7. I read about her some time back and having dated / been in a relationship with an OFW, I think what she wrote completely BLOWS. They are by no means the most perfect people on earth but the sacrifices they make, the loneliness they feel, just to make things better for their family back home is something she completely failed to appreciate or even understand. She had, up until the wake up call happened, a really narrow world view. Most hated Pinay? I don't know, some people don't even consider her a Filipino. In my book she WAS a Filipino.

  8. yeah. hehe... i heard she already resigned. i hope she's filthy rich, because if being in media (?) is her only source of income, man she's going to BRAVELY take economy class every time.

  10. My sentiments exactly. Kinahihiya ko sya. It's okay to make okray sometimes, with our posse (hehe). But to realease an article on it? Man it's like she's asking for trouble. She should've cut her wrist and save herserlf the humiliation. Ang arte nya, grabe!

Ui Captain, that OFW ba ay si... heehee...

  11. I stand corrected, two OFWs...can you believe?

In the words of the ad, "Mahaba-habang" inuman 'to...plus I owe you that OTHER kwento that has nothing to do with this post OR with OFWs.

I don't know about what happened to Ms. Malu after she resigned but if she has gone into HIDING, I wouldn't in the least bit be surprised. I was actually in Cafe Press in Fully Booked and the table beside was talking about HER. Most hated indeed, I'm wondering it is only the blogosphere that features extensive discussion on the matter. I think this deserves more attention in the traditional media.

I can't believe how UTTERLY CLUELESS some people can be, it boggles the mind.

I have a friend who works at middle east and trust me.. that friend of mine is one of the nicest soul i ever met and he is busting his a** there just to support his siblings.. and here we have a pinay ridiculing them.. she deserves to be "world's hatest pinay!"

  16. Ewan ko nga ba, Lynn.

Di ko maintindihan bakit ganyan ang buhay. Buti nalang sobrang OK yung support group ko, buti nalang gumagawa pa si Johnny Depp ng pelikula, buti nalang ganun din si Tim Burton, buti nalang nandiyan pa rin yung Tortuga Bar, buti nalang may tsokolate, buti nalang kahit mag-isa kayang kaya pa :-)

Grabe talaga yung babaeng yun, talagang walang malasakit sa kapwa. You know it is so sweet to see Filipinos abroad acknowledge each other...or ask hesitantly, "Pilipino ka ba?" be it at the San Francisco airport, at a grocery in Hong Kong, in a shop in New Orleans, in the side streets of Amsterdam...or to see Pinoys just nod their heads when they meet. And when they know you're the visitor they go out of their way to help you or get you discounts. They help you carry your baggage, they ask for stories about home, they tell you where you can get the cheapest phone cards for calling the Pinas. Wala any tips they can give, any little thing they can do to help, any small talk they can manage. They do miss home!

One casual acquaintance of mine now works in Duty Free Dubai. When she came home last November I saw her at Big Sky Mind, said hello. You know what she did? She paid for me and my cousin's orders as well.

Im still in disbelief how someone can say those things.

Nakuha pa niyang mainsulto when she was asked if she was an OFW. Ugh.

I wonder where she is. If she's hiding, good for her. And good for us.

  17. Read what she wrote in her article or run a search on her. And again, I'm so wary of calling her a Filipino. She WAS a
Filipino. I don't know what she is now.

  18. thanks, Fer. buti nga sa kanya. Mahaderang Matapobre!

From that article: Last year, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas said OFWs sent a total of US$12.6 billion in remittances to their families in the Philippines.
    - sana may $12.6 billion itong si donya Malu. Ibayad na lang nya sa mga nakunsumi nyang OFW's para mapatawad sya. hehe...
